Powdertech’s Flexible Composite Ferrite delivers the functionality of a sintered ferrite with the flexibility of a film by utilizing aerosol deposition process technology.

Magnetic Composite Film Design

Powdertech now offers a binderless magnetic composite material that combines the flexibility and characteristics of a film with the electromagnetic properties of a sintered ferrite.

Our technology uses room temperature aerosol deposition, which enables us to support a broad range of design options without compromising the function of the base substrate.   The ferrite composition and depth of the ferrite layer can be specified for deposition onto a range of material types and thicknesses. 

The high degree of freedom in design options allows us to deliver a composite film which can be formed into any shape, and optimized for a variety of applications such as electromagnetic shielding and electronic components.

Flexible Composite Ferrite Design Options

Soft Magnetic Composition Options

Mn, Mn-Zn, and Ni-Zn ferrite compositions can be designed with layer thickness ranging from 2 – 15μm.

Hard Magnetic Composition Options

Sr ferrite can be designed with layer thickness ranging from 2 – 15μm.

Metal Substrate

Copper, aluminum, nickel, or other metal compositions can be specified as the base substrate, at up to 10μm substrate thickness.

Resin Substrate

PC, PVC, POM, ABS, PI, or other polymer compositions can be specified as the base substrate, at up to 50μm substrate thickness.
