Ferrite powders belong to a class of products known as “functional materials”— that is, materials designed to perform specific tasks. Powdertech offers multiple ferrite powder formulations differing in particle size, particle shape, surface texture, and other characteristics. Each formulation is designed to respond to specific customer needs.

Large-Particle Ferrite Powder

This large-particle formulation is a soft ferrite powder which can be produced at an average particle size ranging from 30µm~5mm. The large particles are safe and easy to handle and can be used in a wide array of applications.

Applications of large-particle ferrite powders:

Passive components, powder transport, magnetic fillers, additive manufacturing, electrophotographic carrier powders, and many more

Small-Particle Ferrite Powder

This spherical soft ferrite powder can be produced at an average particle size ranging from 3~30µm. The particle surface can be customized from smooth to wrinkled morphology. The large surface area and the customizable surface design ensures flexible yet highly functional performance.

Applications of high specific surface area, small-particle ferrite powders:

Passive components, inductors, electromagnetic wave shielding, magnetic fillers, absorbents, and many more

Spherical Nano Ferrite Powder

This spherical ultrafine nanoscale soft ferrite powder is produced by a special sintering method. Because these ferrite particles are metal oxides, this ultrafine ferrite powder is oxidation-resistant and lasts longer than nanoparticles of regular metal powders, providing chemical stability.

These ultrafine ferrite particles have high dispersion capability in various solvents, and are suitable for magnetic ink, magnetic fluid, etc. 

Applications of spherical nano ferrite powders:

Magnetic fillers, magnetic fluid, magnetic ink, and many more

Flake-Shaped Ferrite Powder

Our flake-shaped ferrite powder has good orientation, making it suitable as filler for electromagnetic wave shielding. The ferrite composition design and particle dimensions can be customized upon request.  Flake thickness can be produced to an average range of 5-30μm, and flake length can be produced to an average range of 50-200μm. The ferrite composition design can be customized depending on your desired frequency response.

This flake-shaped powder, a metallic oxide, is also suitable for pigments. It has a metallic luster deriving from the flat and very smooth particle surface.

Applications of flake-shaped ferrite powders:

Electromagnetic wave shielding, pigments, and many more

Shell-Structured Ferrite Powder

In producing spherical ferrite powders, it is almost impossible to control the outer and inner structures separately.

However, we have successfully developed spherical ferrite particles with porous areas inside and a shell-structured surface outside. Shell-Structured Ferrite combines high pore volume and low apparent density, making it a good choice for low-weight functional magnetic fillers. In addition, with the high pore volume structure inside, this powder can be used for catalyst support or absorbents.
